Peggy’s “Here’s to You,” written with longtime television composer, orchestrator and conductor Richard Hazard, was for many years her closing song in live performance. A series of toasts in different languages, her concern for its message of universal health and happiness was heartfelt and she delivered it with great warmth. She introduced it to television audiences during her 1967 television special and then recorded it April 24, 1968 for her live Capitol Records album Two Shows Nightly. It also closed her 1977 album Live in London. Her friend Cary Grant recorded it as the flipside to the Lee-Coleman “Christmas Lullaby” for his sole Columbia Records single.
